ACZ Laboratories, Inc - Steamboat Springs, Colorado

ACZ Laboratories, Inc is an independent analytical testing laboratory located in Steamboat Springs, CO. We specialize in the analysis of environmental samples for organic, inorganic, and radiochemical parameters. Our 13,000 ft2 laboratory was built in 1990 with special design attention given to sample flow and handling, air flow and data transfer. ACZ expanded its facility by adding 9,000 ft2 in 1999. A class 100 cleanroom was the primary focus of this new addition. The cleanroom is used to reach part per trillion trace metal detection limits as prescribed in the new EPA 1600 series methods. The current facility has been installed with a state-of-the-art HVAC system to address the need for positive pressure in certain areas of the lab (i.e. VOA instrument lab) and negative pressure in other areas of the lab (i.e. sample preparation areas). The facility has been designed so that all procedures and analyses that are considered incompatible are not performed in the same area. The entire building was pre-wired for a Local Area Network (LAN) to accommodate direct data acquisition and a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

We have an excellent infrastructure in place to facilitate the production of accurate and valid data. Our lab personnel are provided with new, automated instrumentation to improve reproducibility and increase productivity. Qualified environmental scientists head each department with many years of hands-on laboratory experience. We have a full time QA Officer, two full-time Project Management people, two full time document control/report production people and several Client Service Representatives.

Often, companies or agencies need to do an on-site audit of ACZ Laboratories. We invite any interested party to visit our facility. Direct flights are available from Denver to the Yampa Valley Airport, located near Hayden, CO – about twenty miles away. Rental cars, taxis and shuttle service are available to Steamboat Springs. Since Steamboat Springs is the home of a world-class ski resort (and world-class laboratory), accommodations ranging from inexpensive to premium are available.
